John Leschinski of Leschinski Design in London, Ontario wrote a post about the new ads that the London Transit Commission has put up all over London. In it he writes
The posters feature very low quality 3D models of passengers varying in race and sex and a little note at the bottom telling riders how to behave. Some take one or two of the characters and highlight them to make a point about that specific user demographic. Overall the posters are poorly done, with unnecessary drop shadows, poor type selection, poor 3D graphics, and the use of almost identical imagery for four separate ads.
John then posted a few mock-ups of replacement designs he created in about 30 minutes. These designs are copyright Leschinski Design. (Images link to LeschinskiDesign.com.)
I personally think these are hilarious, and much better than what the LTC came up with. It makes me wonder if companies think about how much business they could be losing because they weren’t willing to pay for quality work.
